Pool leak
detection.

A pool that keeps losing water is leaking somewhere: the liner, a fitting, the skimmer or the plumbing. Watermark Pools finds the leak and fixes it, and tells you straight when a patch will do and when it won't.

ALeak or evaporation?

The bucket
test.

Memphis summers evaporate a lot of water. Before anyone digs or drains, check whether the pool is actually leaking.

  1. Set a bucket on the step

Fill it with pool water to the same level as the pool.

  2. Mark both lines

Mark the water line inside the bucket and on the pool wall or skimmer.

  3. Wait a day

Leave the pump on its normal schedule and don't add water.

  4. Compare

If the pool dropped noticeably more than the bucket, you're losing water to more than evaporation. Call us.

BWhere leaks hide

Six places
we look.

Most leaks are in one of these spots. Finding which one is the job.

  • 01

    The liner

Tears and pinholes, often at the steps and corners where the vinyl moves most.

  • 02

    Fittings

Returns, lights and drains, where the liner is cut and sealed around a fitting.

  • 03

    The skimmer

Cracked skimmer bodies and failed gaskets, especially on above-ground pools.

  • 04

    Plumbing

Lines between the pool and the equipment pad, including the ones that freeze in winter.

  • 05

    The pump

Seals and housings that drip at the pad. Air in the pump basket can point to a suction-side leak.

  • 06

    The filter

Valves, o-rings and housings that weep under pressure.

CPatch or replace

A straight
answer.

A leak in a liner that's otherwise in good shape can often be patched the same day. A leak in an old, brittle liner is often the sign it's done.

We'll show you what we found and talk through both options. That's what our reviewers keep mentioning: Mark finds the leak, explains it, and lets you decide.

  • Liner patchesTears and holes, including at the steps.
  • Fitting & skimmer repairGaskets, faceplates, new skimmer openings.
  • Plumbing repairsGeneral pool plumbing, including burst pipes.
  • Liner replacementWhen patching isn't worth it. See liners.
